Couple of recent comments from 1 year+ owners.....

"There have been some huge shifts in the game and I'm not adapting well. It's frustrating to have a general philosophy that was successful in 4.2, 4.3, and 4.4 then all of a sudden in 4.5 it's putrid. Not just less effective - but outright horrible (like less than 100 yards total offense & multiple TD-less games."

"I think this may be my last season as well. The game has become way too much about figuring out what the game version is doing and not about football. A lot of things that now dominate the game wouldn't work in real life football."

I hope you dont leave grandadb but I understand. Certain individuals on this thread consider these post whining or too negative to the game. They are blind or indifferent to the fact that 4.4 and 4.5 has caused us to lose many great owners which certainly includes yourself. If you leave you will be missed. I can only hope your comments will hit home.

Here is another flaw with the code (and I saw this with 4.4 as well), any running play up the middle where the RB makes 8+ yards, once he gets hit, 50-75% of the time, he fumbles. That’s not realistic at all and needs to be fixed. Most fumbles take place at the line, not several yards downfield. It should be a plus that RBs gain a chunk of yards not a negative thing when they always fumble. Same complaints about the “hot read” plays. Now, anytime the QB hot reads in a play, it’s either a negative yardage play or something like a penalty or turnover happen. Shouldn’t “hot reads” be a positive play for the QB? I still love the game but wanted to relay these observations that happen all the time.

I'll have to watch for this. Can't remember the last time I saw a "hot read".

I haven't noticed the IR fumbles on my teams, but I completely agree on the hot reads. I love seeing my opponent getting a "hot read". I hate when my QBs do it.

I dont care what engine we're on, I think the game is great and there's so much color in personality from other owners on this site. Plus who doesn't love kicking game winning/clinching field goals?

This needs to be immediately fixed/addressed, please. Newer/newest leagues kickers are being created not plentiful enough/not enough talent to be had across the span of the league.

If one was unable to defend their turf (wasn't there for the creation/dispersal draft) and got stuck with a kicker whom is non-competitive there's no options to remedy it. The free agency open market is bare with no options and to cite an example a league in its 2nd season just coming off a draft where only one option was available in the draft and that one wasn't even a good one. (lacks kicker strength)

Upshot is what's the point of competing if I and others can brilliantly game plan across the board and defeat the opponent in every way but lose because there's no way to fix a broken kicker scenario. Thus opposition is winning on a technicality; a true after-thought which shouldn't be the decider. :(

I know it sucks - a lot (hence why I drafted a kicker in 30th round) - but you could always use a roster slot on adding a guy like this.

I doubt accuracy matters much for kickoffs.

Let me go look into that. The lack of kicking field goals I'll have to live with/probably can make work.

That player looks to have potential to fill the kickoff slot and thus run with 2 kickers.

This makes me think of a podcast I called into one time that Bryno/Bryson were hosting a several months ago. I told them both we should all start drafting several kickers/punters but jokingly and now it seems I'm not completely wrong. What's even funnier is that I just finished an allocation draft in a vets vs couple newbs league, I didnt draft a single P/K and chuckled to myself when I felt like other owners were wasting early round picks on them. Now I'm stuck with two bums in a scarce FA lol I guess most of us learn the hard way.
