Re: Version 0.4.3 Release Candidate Discussion

Fuge has a 9 in catching and really low route. Rankin has a 26 in catching and also has a really low route. I'd almost write off those plays on that alone. But, yeah, I saw a few of those as well with good receiving backs in 87.

I saw a lot of slowing down, adjustment... on short passes, but I assume it was not part of the tweak.

I'm going to call QB pocket movement outside of the scope for 0.4.3, but agree that it is something that needs to be addressed.

I already put it in the 0.4.4 thread. I don't think it needs addressed now. I just started noticing it more when I was watching how the QB squared the field. ... Also, it's faster to move your eyes than your feet...

One think to note is that the direction of the head is the direction he is 'looking the defender off' and is not necessarily the direction he is actually looking. So that is why he is sometimes throwing in a direction that doesn't match where his head is looking.

I wondered about that. Makes sense.

Just so this doesn't get lost. The past few games have felt a lot more stable. I'm probably 90% confident this is release ready. I'd like to see two more solid games before being 100%, but I assume by Saturday, I'd be comfortable with it.

Even with some of the slow downs in RB passing, I can kind of figure out a lot of them by looking QB and RB attributes and knowledge.

I think that in 0.4.4 you should look at RB route / stutter throwing off LB trail coverage tho.

There was a lot more weird and bad QB ball placement in this game for both QBs.

1) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8257#1497543
a) I don't know where this one was supposed to go.

2) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8257#1497548
a) Not good placement here, and the WR would have run out of bounds.

3) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8257#1497558
a) Bad RB pass here. The RB is a WR that dropped to the backfield and has 100 route and catch.

4) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8257#1497563
a) Bad placement here. QB is not under pressure either. What's particularly bothersome on this play and #3 above is the QB ignores the wide open WR in his FOV.

5) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8257#1497572
a) Bad RB pass here.

6) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8257#1497573
a) What the **** does the FB do on this play? He turns around and starts to run backward on the snap.

7) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8257#1497575
a) Another wide open drop on a short pass. I didn't see any of these last game, so I'm not sure what changed.

8) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8257#1497580
a) Bad RB pass leads to a safety.

9) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8257#1497614
a) Where the **** is the FB going on this play? He's supposed to lead block.

10) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8257#1497618
a) This one is really bad.

11) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8257#1497629
a) This one is really bad too.

12) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8257#1497641
a) Here's one to watch closely. At the time of the catch, the RB has inside position on the DB. If he catches this cleanly, this could be a first down because the DB would have to turn to make the play. Instead, the RB has to adjust and ends up somehow behind the DB, which doesn't make any logical sense given their relative positions at the time of the catch.

13) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8257#1497645
a) Here's another one to watch closely. The LB makes a break on the RB as soon as the ball is in the air. But the ball ends up several yards behind where the RB should make the play. If the QB gets this ball out in front of the RB, the LB has no chance of making a play here.

14) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8257#1497672
a) Another RB pass where the QB loses control of the ball.

15) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8257#1497690
a) I can't even...

My team has 30 plus drops and 250 plus receptions. It's like 8 or 9 drop per reception. The nfl average is 16.

My elite recievers have dropped 10 and caught 80. Once again 8 per .

There seems to be little difference in talent for what distinguished what becomes a drop or not.

Tom Brady has the most drops by his recievers , but a drop should not be directed by the qb but the talent of his recievers anyway.
