That is what it should have been, but it isn't. It has become a series of poor rollouts and 'improvements', which has mostly been catered to just a handful of players. This isn't personal at all, but how can Ray throw for 1000yds a game consistently, yet no fix in place for it (it has been just about a whole season worth of games at this point)? How can overuse penalties still be broken? It has been a while since that rollout. Draft obfuscation was a disaster and should never have been implemented to begin with, some kept pushing for it however. And how does a code that broke everything this week even get pushed out without being put through some testing. Salary cap nonsense and contract asks should have been fixed a long time ago. Trade value and trade meter should have been fixed as well...way too many b.s. trades where existing owners take advantage of new owners. Playbooks should have been increased and opened up. So many easier and simple fixes to make this game more enjoyable could have been done earlier. Instead, it seems we are trying to launch a space shuttle before learning to fly a kite.
The "fixes" have made the game worse. Instead of rolling a ton of things back, we leave them and try to roll new 'fixes' to combat the bad ones. We can hide behind the 'beta' league claim, or admit this game has gone the wrong way. My opinion is that it has gone the wrong way and am comfortable saying so having been here from MFN-1 Season 1, just like Wolfpack. Almost all the original owners are gone because of the exact same thing, but their tolerance ran out many seasons ago. I held out hope for this sim, I truly did.
That being said, I tip my cap to JDB for creating this game and sticking with his dream. I know I don't have the skills to make such a sim. I am choosing to voice my opinion at this point and say that this game is no longer enjoyable. I understand there are different levels of sims, but there is 0 enjoyment for me to spend hours figuring out how find an exploit or defend against one. I don't have hours a day to dedicate to this game, nor do I think this or any sim should require that.
