Infinity and I were talking about the same thing (broken zone reads). Spy is actually a M2M cover scheme where the Spy doesn't actually go man up on the player he's spying until that player gets the ball or breaks contain. Other than being slow to react, the Spy reads the running plays OK.

It's says man in the play heading but if you look at lb classification it's a zone in. Under assignment it says qb spy, but I am betting that slow read is just like all the slow reads that come from any lb in any type of zone coverage assignment.

Here its a zone play for the LB...not a man assignment , like a real life, well a mirror assignment with a blitz when QB is near the line 8f scrimmage .

It would be better to have the lb act like lbs that cover backs out of the back feild while in man coverage . As they mirror till the ball is thrown. These lbs in spy should mirror till the qb gets close to the line. Or like a delayed blitz . Still a pretty pointless tactic till qb run again

Right, I mean IRL and not in MFN.

Ok, I'll add some play-by-play color when a WR successfully jukes his defender. Let me know if it doesn't feel like it applies correctly when you see it.

Can you let me/us know what the key words for this text is when it's added?

I don't think this has ever happened In a real game

Wait, the Titans used this play to come back against the Chiefs in the playoffs this year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzKKNHb-QR4

I don't know about having the text for the recievers not thrown to.....but it let me see how often the game thought my guys were, open and my qb just took a sack on a blitz . Its ok ,I guess, cause he stinks, but the PBP get muddled with 3 to 4 recievers getting separtion on one play

Really most of the time when a reciever actually got separation (visually )there was nothing in PBP. I am assuming that is man vs. Route at work , but I just don't think so. Cause dbs just stop covering right before the ball gets there ,

What causes that?

In my game, the neither QB threw to the WR that got separation on a play either.

I noticed this when reviewing game logs for sacks and stutter stepping.

Pass blocking on the outside is still glitchy. Watch the LT and the LG on this play. The LG zooms across the screen (I thought that had been fixed) instead of staying home. The LT turns away from the play before engaging the DE, and then drops his block and turns away from the play: https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/watch/1558#285114

I noticed this in the past, but it's really noticeable now that I've been testing a base defense heavy game plan. The MLB Spy in the 4-3 has no idea what to do if it's a passing play, so he sits in the middle of the field and pirouettes like the beautiful ballerina that he is. On a RB, he also starts to pirouette until the RB hits the LOS and then he attacks.

So two things:

1) On passing plays, the MLB spy should shadow the QB by moving up to the LOS and then laterally if the QB breaks the pocket. When QBs actually run again, this will be essential.

2) On running plays, the MLB should be attacking sooner or at least moving laterally as soon as he reads the run.

3) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/7857#1419934
...a) MLB doesn't pirouette on this play, but he also doesn't react until after the RB is past the LOS

4) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/7857#1419935

5) https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/7857#1419944
...a) MLB actually spies this run and attacks the play; he takes a bad angle and misses the tackle

...a) Back to Swan Lake.

Pretty much every lb run read while in zone acts the same way . So broke. Really , spy could be considered man , but it is in the category of zone in. So , poor run reads are the result. One other reason man is better than zone.

Do you all feel that this is egregious enough to include in this current release (i.e. that the other changes have exposed this as a bigger issue than it currently is) or should this be pushed to the next version?
